Job Description – Product Development Manager (PDM) Summary:

This person will work with internal business units including Quality Assurance, Sales, and Production to identify or develop both new and existing products to meet customer’s needs. One key component of this job will be to manage all sample requests from the sales team for both inbound and outbound samples. Samples for new items or items that require a match will be tracked in one XLS sheet.

This person will also be expected to be able to handle a heavy technical workload, including: creating new product specifications, maintaining existing specifications, developing and maintaining labels, working directly with government organizations on label approvals & spec approvals and/or updates.

  • Develop manufacturing specifications, communicate critical requirements, and provide expertise throughout the development stage of a product.
  • Coordinate technical/research projects and resources.
  • Create nutrition labels using Genesis R&D software.
  • Create/Maintain Spec Sheets, Photos, and reports of new products.
  • Travel 25-30% (travel between company facilities, travel to meet with strategic partners, travel to customer cuttings).
  • Maintain a PPT File for all National Accounts new product ideas. Establish contact with culinary teams of National Accounts.
  • Work directly with our Strategic Breading partner to improve existing coating systems, develop new coating systems based on customer needs, and propose ideation for new recipes.
  • Communicate with government entities to obtain approvals for new products and revisions of existing product formulations.
  • Track new flavor and nutrition trends, create quarterly PPT report for internal team.
