We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to drive MSC’s marketing in the US, promoting and enhancing the organization’s public profile and partner engagement.

Reporting to the US Program Director you will also work closely with the Global Communications and Marketing team in London. Collaboration and understanding of the MSC US fishery, commercial and NGO partners will help devise and coordinate strategies and programs that help raise awareness and understanding of the MSC and grow participation in, and support for, the MSC in the US. You are expected to establish excellent working relationships internally across all regions and departments, and build and maintain successful external relationships with marketing staff at commercial and fisheries partners, along with agencies and third party suppliers.

MSC’s marketing function aims to combine public awareness and advocacy with commercial marketing through brand and retail partners. You must have a strong track record of success in consumer and commercial marketing, with experience in developing insight-led consumer engagement initiatives and campaigns, and associated messaging and creative, across multiple channels. It will be as important that you can confidently show how MSC’s consumer proposition can benefit a major retail brand, as it is for you to develop MSC’s own digital and social marketing campaigns. You will manage the Marketing Manager, overseeing and supporting their work in delivering campaign creative, marketing collateral, digital activation and implementing effective planning processes. The post holder will provide professional advice and support to the Program Director on marketing strategies and deliverables; driving and inspiring an innovative approach to marketing by working closely with global marketing colleagues.

The role will also work very closely with the Senior PR manager on integrated communications and campaigns, and the MSC US commercial team to establish and promote best practices, proposals and pitch decks to strengthen MSC’s commercial engagement and joint marketing strategies, and lead on marketing engagement with commercial partners.

You will be an integral part of the MSC US country team, and will participate in the collective management and strategic development and actions of the organization in the region. This exciting and challenging role will shape and steer the MSC’s public education and consumer engagement strategy in the US, in line with the broader strategic goals of the MSC. Alongside the strategic elements of the role, you will be expected to be directly involved (hands on) in day to day operational activities and will therefore need relevant technical skills and abilities.
