Live Lobster purchasing

Live Lobster purchasing, maintenance, QA/QC and Delivery in Canada.  This is a new role for a billion-dollar international seafood company.  If you have experience buying live lobster in Canada and knowledge of the logistics of shipping it to Asia, then this could represent an outstanding opportunity for you.   The candidate we are looking for most likely lives in Nova Scotia and has deep relationships with the lobster fishing community. 


Roles & Key Accountabilities


•        Source internal & outside live lobster vendors in Canada, monitor billing rates and constantly check the product for quality.

•        Purchase and Procure live lobster according to TUC requirement, seasonal & Spot

•        Monitor the inventory of live lobster

•        Enquiry& Procure potential local value-added service & Operation related to live lobster product (extra packaging, label marking)

•        Arrange live lobster logistic to China timely with cost control;

•        Review live lobster marketing information and make report daily&weekly;

•        Advise appropriate vendor of trends or changes in the live lobster  market.

•        Daily communication with the sales staff regarding arrivals, delays and new opportunities.

•        Having protection on shrink with shipper credits.

•        Introduce new items & service to the sales & marketing department.

•        Monitor customer gross profit levels and adjust as needed


 Job Specifications


Education Background and Professional Experiences

•        At least Two (2) years purchasing experience in Live lobster industry needed

•        At least Three (3) years seafood-related purchasing preferred.

•        At least One (1) years intensive live lobster export knowledge.

•        Having experience in a sales related position preferred.

•        General understanding of live lobster distribution and warehousing procedures required.

•        Frequently English needed, French & Chinese preferred

•        Proven ability to communicate effectively over the phone, good negotiating and interpersonal skills and ability to handle stress effectively.

•        General understanding of office software & data analyst.
