675 Senior Commercial Manager, Eastern US-MSC

MSC Background

 

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is a global not for profit organization, established in 1997 to address the problem of unsustainable fishing and to ensure healthy oceans for the future.

 

Through our world-leading certification and eco-labelling program, we are helping to create a more sustainable seafood market. We work with a diverse range of stakeholders – including consumers, retailers, food processors and the fishing industry. Having experienced remarkable growth over the last 18 years, our blue ecolabel is now one of the most well recognized and successful ecolabels in use over five continents.  We now employ more than 180 staff around the world. 

 

Around half of all fisheries in the US are engaged with the MSC program and nearly 1,500 MSC ecolabeled products are currently sold in supermarkets across North America. Successful communications and marketing is vital to driving awareness and support of the MSC program in the US and use of our ecolabel.

 

Background on the Role

 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic commercial partner manager to expand the MSC’s commercial engagement in the US, promoting and enhancing the organization’s profile and partner engagement. This is primarily a Business Development and Corporate engagement role.

 

The goal of the MSC’s commercial program is to raise awareness of seafood sustainability issues in the US market through building support and demand for seafood and seafood products from MSC certified fisheries in the supply chain, including retail and food service. Ensuring high levels of satisfaction and support to (and from) existing commercial partners is a major priority – to make the MSC program work better for them and demonstrate benefits, and in so doing, deepen their engagement.  Additionally, the person in this position will continue to grow and develop the reach of the MSC program with new commercial partners throughout the seafood supply chain.
