820 Business Development Managers-Retail, Foodservice, and Wholesalers

The Business Development Manager will join an existing team of Regional Business Development Managers, a VP of Business Development and a team of inside sales / customer service representatives all focused on growing their existing business and identifying and closing new business opportunities.

Our client sells to retailers, foodservice and seafood wholesalers that typically buy $100k+ of our core products, handle their own distribution to store/restaurant level, and are serviceable through their existing logistics network. Foodservice and mid-sized distributor services retailers are the primary target for this role. The target customer values quality, integrity and storied products that emphasize sustainability and responsibility. Our client is unique because they provide consistent quality, they partner for growth and produce seafood their customers can trust.
Core products are premium scallops, premium Atlantic haddock, Pacific cod, cold water shrimp and a variety of retail and value add products. A marquis product line is a ready to cook retail skin pack product in a variety of proteins/flavors.
The ideal candidate will have experience selling seafood to the retail and foodservice sectors. Experience selling groundfish is a real plus and represents great growth opportunity. This position is heavily focused on new business acquisition, both new logo and cross sell. The right candidate in this role will maintain a limited book of existing busines which has shown opportunity for growth.
Responsible for attaining monthly sales quota on existing business
Responsible for attaining monthly sales targets for new business
Develop regional sales strategy
Identify and convert prospective customers
Build and develop key relationships with customers
Provide support/training to key customers
Participate in national/regional/distributor seafood events (virtual and in person)
Negotiate deals/set prices in collaboration with VP- Sales
Prepare sales contracts / coordinate with Customer Service and submit orders for processing
