Strategic Sourcing Manager

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, the Strategic Sourcing Manager is integral to the continued growth and success of the Company and its ability to stand out in the marketplace. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly integrate into the organization, as well as build trust and credibility internally and externally In this role, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will demonstrate a strong ability to think critically, plan thoughtfully, and maintain productive working relationships.

Key responsibilities include the continuous alignment of strategic sourcing and procurement activities with the Company’s annual operating plan and overall business objectives, in order to maximize customer service levels, support planned sales growth and help maintain a world class supply chain. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in global seafood sourcing and procurement. Additionally, he or she will have a demonstrated track record of driving results through effective sourcing strategies while demonstrating strong competencies in maintaining strategic relationships, managing cost and inventory, and making sound decisions utilizing data analytics and market research intelligence.

 Objectives

·         Support the achievement of volume, profit and service level objectives in accordance with the Company’s annual operating plan.

·         Grow and/or optimize the Company’s network of qualified suppliers within assigned categories to ensure that the Company has consistent access to the product it needs at the most competitive prices.

·         Identify opportunities for the Company to leverage its unique supply chain and sourcing capabilities in assigned categories as a key differentiator in serving customers.

·         Ensure that the Company maintains an appropriate inventory of products to meet customer demand while avoiding overstocking, aged product and excessive carrying costs.

·         Foster productive cross-functional relationships internally and with trading partners to enable effective, efficient, and value-creating service to customers.

 Key Responsibilities

 ·         Ensure that products purchased meet Company specifications and standards for food safety and quality, and that they have been produced in accordance with relevant fair labor practices.

·         Help improve efficiency, increase service levels and reduce costs and risk across all assigned categories.

·         Maintain working knowledge of key markets, commodities, and inputs, and foster efficient communication

with Sales, Logistics and Finance teams to optimize the Company’s competitive position.

·         Contribute to the execution of RFQs and RFPs, in conjunction with various Sales team members, for all assigned categories.

·         Continuously improve and re-evaluate purchasing activities by conducting regular spend analyses across all assigned product categories.

·         Work with the Sales and Finance teams to identify opportunities to mitigate financial risks and/or eliminate costs from sourcing and procurement activities.

·         Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and key customers, as needed, to help optimize service levels, streamline data sharing, and improve visibility and timeliness of product deliveries.

·         Ensure adherence to Company policies, regulatory requirements, and relevant government reporting.

 Education and Experience Requirements

 •         Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

•         A minimum of 7+ years’ experience in global seafood sourcing and procurement, with fresh sourcing a plus

•         Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)

 •         Experience with supply chain systems technology, including but not limited to ERP systems and supply chain visibility tools

•         Willingness to travel inside the U.S. and globally
